Cryolab Eersel, founded in 1997, is engaged with research, extending, storage and distribution of semen from various species. The most important of which are the dog and the goat.
Cryolab is established at the address Nieuwstraat 63a in Eersel. In addition Cryolab has an other branch located in Middelbeers at the NVWA certified GKN- goat reproduction centre.
The research is carried out with the most modern computer-based analysis that gives objective and reliable results.
RESEARCH
The purpose of examining semen is to try to give a good estimate of the fertilising capacity on the basis of several measurable..
EXTENDING
We freeze semen (till -196 degrees Celsius) in order to make it independent of the time, to make it easy to store and distribute..
STORAGE
The straws or pellets with frozen sperm are stored in our tank filled with liquid nitrogen which is divided into many compartments..
DISTRIBUTION
There has been a rise in activity of Cryolab in sending semen abroad and vice versa. By doing this one can create a good opportunity..
Both the examination of canine semen and further processing starts with a good collection. This is done manually with the dog in a standing position in a quiet area and preferably with a female dog in heat. In this way the libido of the dog is optimal and the quality of the sperm will be optimal too. Experienced male dogs can generally also give good sperm without a female dog in heat.
The evaluation and handling of goat buck semen is an important process at Cryolab. We closely work together with 'Geiten KI vereniging Nederland'(GKN). Cryolab reviews and evaluates the semen of bucks that GKN wants to use in their herd. To do so, we use a semen challenge test and CASA (computer assisted semen analysis).
From now on we have a new service. Collection, quality evaluation, freezing and storing cats semen. For more information, please contact us by mail info@cryolab.nl or by phone 0031 497 745 562.
Recently it is possible to freeze, store and export pigeon semen with us. We are using a special medium for this. For more information, please contact us by mail info@cryolab.nl or by Phone 0031 497 745 562.

The preservation of semen for several days is possible by spinning it immediately after collection and adding a chilled semen extender and gradually cooling it to 4 degrees centrigrade. Depending on the quality of the semen, the extender and the cooling curve it is possible to keep the motility up to 10 days. The capability of fertilising ova is most of the time much less possible. Up to 5 days maximum is more realistic.

With chilled or frozen semen an insemination is preferably done by means of a TCI (Trans Cervical Insemination): hereby a flexible catheter is endoscopically guided through the cervix into the uterus and the semen is deposited in the uterine horn. This can be done with a female dog standing and multiple times in the same heat.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We are closed from December 23 to January 1.
From now on it is also possible to do the bacteriological research in-house with the advantage of a faster result.
At the upcoming day of action, as always, we will assess the semen samples in terms of motility with our CASA system.
